please help me decide about rooting

Hi.

I am no I was a pro WinMo user until recently lost my TOUCH HD and decided to go for android.

I searched and bought HTC DESIRE because it was the latest in the market.

but now I have many problems and know nothing about them . so please help me a little to get on the track.

1- I think my phone is branded because it shows a VIRGIN logo when it's booting. do I need to debrand it before rooting ?

2- is debranding a permanent action or I need to do it more than once ?

3- debranding seems to need a gold card . do I need that gold card always or I can format it or change it for example to a 16gb clean card ?

4- i need a font for reading Persian text. is there any other way besides rooting to have another font installed ?

5- how will I get the froyo update if I keep my phone branded ?

6- how probable is to have froyo update on 23 June ? if it's less than 50% , i won't wait and will start to root my phone.

7- how can I access the market for the sake of God ? most of the apps latest versions can only be accessed via market.

please help me and believe me I have read a lot but couldn't find the exact answer for my questions and it's a very confusing area for a newbie .

1. Debranding is done during the rooting process.

2. Debranding is perminant.

3. Once debranded and flashed with a custom root enabled rom the goldcard can be formatted.

4. I believe root is the only way to customize fonts.

5. You'd have to wait for your carrier to implement the update to Froyo.

6. Hard to say when we will see Froyo offically released on the Desire.

7. To access the market you need to first set up a google mail account through your phone.
