Flickering widgets

Anyone know what causes the widgets and icons+trash can on home screens to suddenly start flickering about and touch screen become non responsive, last time this happend was about three months ago I was using MCR 1.7 reflashed it and it was still happening next day it was ok, last friday it happened again so I decided to flash FLB-MOB and it was still happening then on Sunday it was ok WIRED!!! T-moblie store says its software+hard/w prob together and suggested I flash official update from T-mobile site, but I dont want to do that anyone know what the fault is thanks, at the moment though its ok I guess till another three months. :)
