The new Build number after the update will be 2.73.405.93; 2.73.405.94 (Nordic) & 2.73.405.95 (Greece/ Ireland) doesn't sound like Android 2.1 though ...

it's not the full upgrade. it's just the preparation update.

It's just a preparatory update which makes our Hero's capable of receiving the Android 2.1 update via OTA

update means little to us. It is just to prepare for the 2.1 update in the next couple of weeks. I am expecting a slightly early copy :) and have heard nothing yet.

If only people looked at the fix list, then we'd maybe get less excitement about what is frankly very little...

I've read that we dont have to update, because of the unrootibility applied by updating (or the second 2.1 update)? Is that true? Just a guess, possibly so, or nonsense ;) ?

When you do the official OTA update, it will install the new SPL which will completely. If that happens, you will not be able to root, install a custom recovery image and end up losing the ability to use custom ROMs.

So wait for the experts here to prepare an update.zip form of the same update for you to use it.

Actually, if you turn the date forward, to july, you will receive the whole update. I read it on a swedish forum and people saying that it work.

But do anybody know that if you have custom rom like mdc 3.2 will receive the update automatic or what?

Because the Taiwain release is buggy (and somewhat unfinished) I'm quite confident he'll change source.

Apologies to everyone, I just seen it on XDA and thought I'd give a heads up for everybody, but yes it turns out this is just in preparation for the main update
