Problem with Liquid forgetting SD Card?

Hiya,

I've switched from a 2gb to 4gb SD Card in my Liquid but quite often the phone gives me a pop up saying the SD card is unformatted yada yada yada, usually a reboot will fix it, is this a problem with the Liquid / Card (unlikely?) / flashed roms? (using 2.1 eclair atm).

Also, I've installed Malez successfully when i tested out Froyo, should I root my droid & why?

You should use 4+ class SD card and search option on this forum :)
