Guest android tom Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 I've installed nandroid, partioned my SD and installed a Modaco rom (3.0, I think) and upgraded radio some months back. Now the touch screen has gone flakey and I have little time to return it before the warranty expires. I'll have to restore the phone to a pure HTC non-warranty-voiding-state, but I'm a little rusty as it's been some months since the one-and-only time that I've messed with the phone to get Modaco on it. I'd like to get this right quickly, so I'm sorry if my first post is about something that has been solved in posts before. My checklist: 1. I've used MyBackup Pro to backup my apps and data to my SD card and then I've mounted the card in Windows and copied all of the files on my SD card over to my computer. 2. I've used Nandroid to restore to my backup. 3. ?? What next? I could use Nandroid to restore to factory defaults. By this point, all of my data will be gone and the OS will be back at the original version. The then I'll wipe the SD card. Do I need to do anything to reverse the radio upgrade? Will the phone still be rooted at this point? Is there anything else left to do? Again, I'm sorry if I'm asking a question that could be pieced together from the forums. I found the posts to the forums so useful some months back and they helped me get a rooted phone with a Modaco image installed withouth problems - I've loved it. However, this time I'm in a real hurry and would really appreciate your help. Thanks, Tom
Guest Roton Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 You just have to flash the official .ruu file from htc. That will reset everything to factory including the radio.
Guest subhramani Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Phase 1: Collect Underpants Phase 2: ? Phase 3: Profit Sorry.... just remembered this!! ;)
Guest android tom Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 I'd forgotten the underpants - an important detail. :-) And I've downloaded the RUU from HTC's site and installed it, then wiped the microSD. Thanks for the help. Tom

Thanks for the help. Tom Just be cautious, they may return the phone pre-upgraded to a rom version making it very difficult to root in the future, so you may not be able to replace the custom rom. Flashing a new recovery image on the later versions is currently not possible, so keep an older RUU handy for future use.... Oh and definitely spare underpants ;) Carl. (I have a flakey toucscreen too, and I want to wait till I see rooting success on HTC's 2.1 rom before sending it back) Thanks, Frank
