can't search the forum?

I am new here, I am having a problem with rooting my Desire.

I thought before I posted another redundant question, I better do a search first.

However, the search function doesn't seem to be working.

The forum returns an error msg:

"There was an error processing the request. Please go back and try again, or contact an administrator for assistance.

connection to localhost:3312 failed"

I was wondering if there is a restriction on using search function or simply it isn't working at all.

The question I have with rooting Desire:

I have an error msg: E: can't open /cache/recovery/command

and when I go into wipe data/factory reset menu, there is a list of "no" and "yes - delete all user data"

which one should I select before I go select the option to "apply sdcard:update.zip"

it seems to be fine if I directly go to the "apply sdcard:update.zip" option even without doing wipe data/factory reset.

I am lost in the last step in the instruction.

Please help!
