Guest Scarlet_Pimp Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 (edited) Hi all, I’m pretty new to android, well not actually even got my phone yet but it’s on its way. I’m getting a Desire on orange, I’m worried about all the cr*p they put on it though. What I would like to do though is put a generic HTC rom on the phone so that it is just a standard desire with all the default apps not bothered about rooting the phone. The problem is I’ve heard people have problems after flashing the generic rom disabling their wifi after getting an update, so this might not be an option for me since the wifi will be needed. Should I just stick with the Orange junk or can anyone point me to an updated guide /rom which does what I want? Just to add the phone must be able to get updates from htc with out issues. If anyone could give me advice on this I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance. Edited June 18, 2010 by Scarlet_Pimp
