Guest DarkField Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Hi. I don't understand.. DEU/GERMANY is german? One of this 6 files is german? I should try it? And what do u mean with "different colours"? Another file = Another colour of the theme?
Guest TheLostSwede Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Only this link works http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW..._00/V10D_00.kdz The different links are meant to be for different providers, as sometimes there are specific features/tweaks related to the network operator.
Guest TheLostSwede Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 It should be, as it has a German location code, you'll have to install it to find out...
Guest DarkField Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 And if it isn't german? Then i have a english firmware for ever?
Guest TheLostSwede Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 No, then you can upgrade to something else when it comes out. However, it doesn't appear that this firmware is working, at least it's not for me...
Guest TheLostSwede Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Why? I don't know, I get an error message as I try to install it, if I knew why, I wouldn't be posting that I was having problems with it, would I? Just checked, the baltic firmware installs just fine, so there's something not right with the German one... Edited July 7, 2010 by TheLostSwede
Guest TheLostSwede Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW..._00/V10D_00.kdz for Orange UK
Guest TheLostSwede Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Ok, the Orange firmware works, but it gives you a nice Orange UK boot logo :) You do also get a bunch of Orange specific software and a bunch of demo games installed. So unless you're a fan of Orange, stay away from this one... Still no luck with the German one, it seems like the KDZ updater isn't all that happy with it... Edited July 7, 2010 by TheLostSwede
Guest hecatae Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW..._00/V10D_00.kdz for Orange UK last time I checked orange remove half a dozen apps from their firmware,
Guest TheLostSwede Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 last time I checked orange remove half a dozen apps from their firmware, Didn't see anything missing, but I re-flashed to the Baltic one, as I couldn't stand the crappy Orange boot logo and the apps are useless to me, as for starters they only work over a 3G connection (no Wi-Fi) and secondly, I don't live in the UK...
Guest hecatae Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 anybody able to compile a script to periodically check and list software updates available on the csmg server?
Guest RottenFoxBreath Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) anybody able to compile a script to periodically check and list software updates available on the csmg server? thanks for the info hecatae, do you think there would be any difference from using the balkan one, to waiting for one from 02? and the orange one seems to like to kick in the operator network, even when trying to select wifi (according to a friend who has one), and this seems in line with other orange LG phones. he's since returned it, and bought an o2 one, which apart from the pre written apn's and bookmarks, seems fairly untouched. Guest hecatae Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 i'm going to try the German one found by thelostswede
Guest hecatae Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 4pda.ru states v10e includes handwriting (v10f balkan)
Guest TheLostSwede Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 i'm going to try the German one found by thelostswede Well, it might work, but it's not extracted properly by the version of KDZ updater that I have at least.
Guest TheLostSwede Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 According to the file properties, 1.0.4.4
Guest Ev1lM0nk3y Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 (edited) Hello, Does the baltic roms have english language in them. LGMobile update (LGUserCSTool) has recognised the kdz file and is syaing i can update will it complete it or will it error. Thanks PS: GT540GO O2 UK rom http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW..._00/V10A_00.kdz Edited July 10, 2010 by Ev1lM0nk3y
Guest RottenFoxBreath Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 (edited) That o2 file, is bog standard V10A and should be signed May 13th, as mine is, and it won't let me update, telling me it's the same software as installed. At least it was on mine, which i got on day of release, and my friends who got his a few days ago was the same. hecatae informed me that the Balkan one does indeed have english on it, BTW.
