wifi tethering - computer cannot connect

hi,

I wanted to try our wifi tethering after installed Paul's r3.1 - MoDaCo Custom ROM. My laptop (win7 64 bit) can see the access point but when I try to connect it just times out, I read that there is an issue with intel wifi cards and windows 7, but I have an Atheros card in my computer withic is not mentioned anywhere. I also tried to update the driver and update the wireless tether app without luck.
