Hi

I am curious about if we can install Bada OS on i900 Omnia, i just examined the Wave model and it was very fast. I liked the OS.

So is it possible to create a project to port Bada OS to Omnia?

Samsung released full SDK on its website.

What do you think?

My vote goes for - not possible, but let's see the others what have to say about it.

P.S. Let me guess why it was really fast as you said? ;) Maybe... ARM Cortex A8 1GHz.

Do you think with that 1 Ghz cpu, is it going to be fast and smooth with winmo? In my opinion i dont think so. Because of Winmo base...

The HTC HD2 is very smooth. In addition to running Windows Mobile, it runs a whole new interface on top of it. The addition of a graphics chip, better CPU and more ram all make it a faster and better phone then the Omnia.

So to answer your rhetorical question, yes, a faster device will run quicker than the Omnia whether or not it runs Bada or Windows Mobile.

To answer your first question, I doubt the Omnia will run Bada OS and to run it fully (including phone, camera etc usage), Samsung will need to release some drivers. Who knows, perhaps they will to promote their new OS.

first of all, just hahaha... people want to run everything on thir onmia, form Win XP to Symbian...yeah right...

You can make it faster by selling it for some money, add some of yours and head to store nearby(not over internet, look at my topic on front page), pick up your iPhone or Wave, and go back to your home. You'll be very satisfied with your Omnia

Gee, mate! They don't getting it, are they? They own a two years old touchscreen smartphone, made to actually running WM6.1 (AND NOTHING ELSE!), we're "pushing" it to run WM.6.5.x... and they're watching NEW GENERATION's smartphones with Android or WM7 (or other OS)...

...and they're dreaming to run these OS with their "old-dad" i900!

Just buy a BLOODY NEW phone! How difficult is it to understand it?!

(It's like you own... a '68 Mini Cooper and you wonna set-up an engine of a... Turbo Subaru Impreza!!!)

True... The Omnia is great and when it was released was something special.. But now it's just ''normal'' like a Qtek S100 vs HTC Diamond... I just bought a Samsung Wave and... Well Omnia was revolutionary in it's time and I think Samsung did it again...

Actually you can install iPhone Today plugin and use Bada UI's icons. Still looking for the icons tho. Anybody release them?
