Guest SirGaz Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 Being a complete numpty, I've managed to delete the Facebook for Sense (I think, could have been called Facebook for HTC) application. I've now figured out that this is responsible for the integration of Facebook details to the contacts. Does anyone know how I can get it back? It was removed with Titanium backup

Guest trstn Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I did that, but I'm quite liking not having facebook sync take over all the thumbnails I had for people saved in google
Guest Lordsmiff Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I did that, but I'm quite liking not having facebook sync take over all the thumbnails I had for people saved in google Even with the integration, you can stop it from replacing the photo for a contact with the facebook one - just remove the link and re-add it and it should ask you (there may be another way but I'm just trying radug's vanillaeclair 4 right now so can't test it). HTH, Smiffy.

HTH, Smiffy. Yup! It asks you whether you want to apply the Facebook photo or Google or the ones which are available on your phone. By the Way Hows VanillaEclair, I'm planning to flash it But the thing stopping me is that I prefer Sense over Vanilla. Edited June 22, 2010 by Dr. dre
Guest trstn Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 Didn't seem to do that for me on villain6, everytime the phone went online it'd switch from google shots to facebook. Wouldn't mind but they downloaded as compressed images over 3G and looked shite
Guest SirGaz Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I've downloaded the file (thanks). How do I push it to system/app?
Guest Dr. dre Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I've downloaded the file (thanks). How do I push it to system/app? Via ADB, I hope you know how to setup ADB
Guest SirGaz Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I've never done it yet, but I'm sure I can find out how, and if not then there is always the helpful bunch on Modaco (like yourself Dr Dre)
Guest SirGaz Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 OK, I have adb working but I can't get the facebook for sense to install. If I try to push to /system/app then I get a failed to copy, read only file system error message. If I try to install then I get a failure as well. Any ideas anyone?

Just give these commands - adb remount adb push HtcFacebook.apk /system/app/ adb reboot or reboot manually. Note - The .apk file should be in the Directory Edited June 23, 2010 by Dr. dre

Guest SirGaz Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Pushing the file across with adb didn't seem to work, but reflashing the rom did. Thanks guys
