Guest Scutworker Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I am going to root my Desire using the risk free root r6 method described in these forums. No worries there (I hope). But the second post in that forum refers to updating the radio to "2.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2 Radio" as an OPTIONAL update. So... What does this update do? Do I need it (I am on T-Mobile UK) And how do I apply it? I see it says using the "recovery-xxx.sh method" but I don't see that command in the r6 download zip. Can I apply it using Rom Manager? Do I even need to apply it? Any help would be much appreciated. Ta,
Guest Scutworker Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 BUMP! Can any body help with this? What difference does the radio make, and how can I install it. Ta.
Guest EddyOS Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 tbh you're better off staying with the existing radio - newer ones seem to drain battery more...I'm still on the original radio having tried the 2 newer ones

Guest Graeme Faulkner Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 Iv been looking into this root method as well. I got the impression from the initial post that it doesn't alow you to flash custom Roms. Is that true or did I misunderstand?
