Guest Plouf35 Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I'm newbie in this forum and just beginning in rooting mobile too ;) I have used the super-boot on my huawei u8230 and installed this ROM : upd8-r6-2.1-pulse-a2sd+-vanilla-signed. It works but its not very stable. (lots of reboot ; camera ...) :( HUAWEI official site give us a file to make a backup to 1.5 but the update failed for me. I think that it is due to the super-boot install. Here are my questions : Did you have the original boot of the HUAWEI U8230 ? How can I do to back up ? I think that i have to replace the .img file in the 1.5 super-boot by the original boot of huawei (if i can find it !) Thank you for your help. (sorry for my bad English)

The trouble is that the update failed. I think that's because of the install of super-boot that as crashed the original boot of the Huawei. (but i'm not sure...Since the install of the 2.1 rom, my mobile is like a "pulse" now, but not "huawei") That's why i'd like to know if i can find the original boot of the U8230 somewhere... Guest Plouf35 Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I think that the explication of what happened to my huawei is here : http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...at-youre-doing/
Guest BigBearMDC Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I think that the explication of what happened to my huawei is here : http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...at-youre-doing/ I'm pretty sure the problem is that Huawei's downgrade patch does not work with the U8230. If you want to downgrade to 1.5 just look at the thread which's link you posted ;) Best regards, BigBear

(this one : http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.p...mb0k87f9c51eqg9 )
Guest BigBearMDC Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I'm nearly 100% sure that your problem has nothing to do with superboot, nor the recovery image. If you want to make that sure, make a nandroid backup and flash the 2.1 update again, but don't root your phone. Try to apply the downgrade patch instead. Its weird, if your device - or to say it better your devices software version - is upgradeable by the downgrade patch, it shouldn't make any problems. Are you sure that there aren't any other UPDATA files on your SD card? There has to be an folder called "dload" on the root of you SD card. Make sure that theres only the downgrade patch UPDATA.APP file in it, delete everything else. Best regards, BigBear
Guest BigBearMDC Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Ohhhh wait. Did you even install the HU 2.1 official update? If not you don't even need to install the downgrade patch. Just flash another ROM ;) If you want to use the FLB or Oscillation ROM you'll have to install the official HU 2.1 update first. Best regards, BigBear

Best regards, BigBear I've never heard of an official update to 2.1 for U8230. The only official update I have done to date was 1.5 and was this: HUAWEI U8230 V100R00 1C101B219SP02 (France BYTEL). After that update, i decided to upgrade 2.1 with a Modaco ROM (install of 1.5 pulse superboot, install of 1.5.2 pulse amonrarecovery, and flash ROM upd8-r6-2.1-pulse-a2sd+-vanilla-signed). I liked this rom but it lacks stability. (Too many cuts and untimely reboot during a call by example. By the way, i have great respect for all the work done by people here :( )
Guest lilim_ac Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 i think you only need to flash with any cupcake rom. there are a lot in huaweidevices.com just download one for example switzerland or anything else. then download amonra recovery. install the recovery and boot to recovery then flash with the downloaded rom. finished...
Guest TobiasFP Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) On another mark: I've never heard of an official update to 2.1 for U8230. By the way, i have great respect for all the work done by people here :D ) I believe the hungarian 2.1 was for pulse, but it was reported to work fine on u8230. Before FLBMOD v. 1.3 i believe you had to install the hungarian rom, or you wouldnt be able to install it. Back to my topic: i think you only need to flash with any cupcake rom. there are a lot in huaweidevice.com just download one for example switzerland or anything else. then download amonra recovery. install the recovery and boot to recovery then flash with the downloaded rom. finished... i do appreciate you trying to help, but i did that like 5 times (4 times with android 1.5 (Danmark Telia), and 1 time with switzer 1.5. Anyways, thanks for the feedback :) I will be trying to put on different boot.img´s on my 1.5, and also trying to split the updata.app and install some boot.img, data.img and so on from the danish 1.5.. Hope to hear more from you with ideas. Edited August 10, 2010 by TobiasFP
