Its working on my phone now that is weird.

It did not work yesterday.

Here is a screenshot:

No need to make a version for Android 2.1. It seems to work on it already.

Please post any comments, bugs or suggestions. Thanks!

There is a slight issue for loooooooong carrier name. "dBm" part will be cut out.

Could you fix that?

Is it possible to make it refresh the widget every 10 seconds or faster?

It updates immediately on 1.6, but needs tweaking for 2.1. The next version will be able to detect which version of Android it is running on and use the best API as appropriate.

  • Detects and displays WiFi status.

If you download V0.2 earlier today, please update with version v0.3.

V0.2 would display the WiFi icon if WiFi was ENABLED, whether connected or not. This has been fixed in V0.3.

Hi I've been using this widget since v 0.1 on my streak and it works great. Just updated to 0.3 and I like the improvements you have made. Nice work, thanks very much.

Thanks for the feedback; it's always good to hear!

As of V0.2, the widget is "Eclair Aware", so will use later API features if installed on 2.1, but I do not have a device to test it on (until we get a Froyo update for the Streak, LOL!).

All feedback, good or bad, welcome. If this version is robust, I will prepare it for the AppMarket.

This is really nice. Exactly what I have been looking for. I am using it on Android 1.6 for the T-Mobile Asus Garminfone.

The only issue I have noticed is that it will consistently "freeze" and stop receiving updates. The only way I can get it to refresh is to remove the widget and re-add it. I am also using ADW.launcher.

Update: I have noticed this most frequently happens when switching bands (E and 3G).

Are you using the latest version of the widget? Version 0.1 would freeze occasionally. This usually happens because the update service has thrown an exception. ADW.Launcher should not affect it.

Yes, v0.3. I downloaded it this morning.

What type of network are you on, GSM or CDMA?

Edited to add: A quick Google indicates that T-Mobile USA is GSM.

Any chance of making the widget have a couple options? I'd love to have something that is transparent without the android graphic. Kind of like BattStatt style. Thanks.
