Guest drchips42 Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Hello, I have Orange UK Desire , I used to be able to download via 3g or WiFi apps and update them. In the past few week the download starts , the updates are found .. but then it says " ready to download " and wont go any further . Web pages work fine , email etc etc .. but I cant down load any apps from the market place . I also have apps brain which links in with the market place and I get the same isue . Have 40MB free on phone ... 6GB on SD card . Have pressed cancel and restart , have tried this on a few networks now.. As I said all other " online " apps are fine, email , browser etc... any ideas?
Guest emotiveicon Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Have you recently changed your Gmail account from [email protected] to [email protected]? Doing so will prevent you from downloading anything from the Market and will prevent you from using Google Chat. It's a known problem and Google are working on a fix.

Guest ascot17 Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 There are 2 solutions to this currently: 1) Change your gmail account back to googlemail 2) If you are flashing a new rom, after the flash use the gmail settings in the setup (you cannot delete your original googlemail account from the phone without a wipe)

I've also noticed one app which seems to block marketplace from working. If it is installed, NOTHING downloads: Rock(divx)Player.apk http://android.modaco.com/content/android-...-y-rmvb-player/

Guest Serenity Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 I changed it back to googemail .... all fab now!!!!!! Cant see how google did not foresee this on there own OS !! Thansk all!!!!!!!! My problem was similar in that I couldn't download ANYTHING at all from the marketplace. It just kept getting stuck at the starting download stage. I fixed by doing a hard reset of the phone and entering all my details again but this time using an existing gmail.com account instead of the newly created googlemail account when I got my new phone earlier today. Now everything works.
