Guest Jompet Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Hello, I heard that Froyo is coming to Desire soon (yeah, yeah I know it's not even on N1 officially yet but a man can dream) so I've been hitting that "Check now" button for the last couple of days... today I got an update! I installed something but in my haste I didn't check what was coming down however this is what I now have: Firmware 2.1 update1 Baseband 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11 Kernel 2.6.29-97da29ed htc-kernel@and18-2 #1 Build 1.21.405.2 CL174215 release keys Software 1.21.405.2 Browser webkit 3.1 The only problem is... whatever I have has now broken my WiFi ;) I get 'unable to start WiFi' and if I go into airplane mode I then get 'unable to stop WiFi' :( What the hell is going on? Thanks, Jompet
Guest EddyOS Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 You got an unlocked phone? This is the issue with OTA updates, it's been well documented on XDA (and here I think)
Guest Jompet Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 You got an unlocked phone? This is the issue with OTA updates, it's been well documented on XDA (and here I think) I'm not sure if it was unlocked... I got it 2nd hand and put my SIM in and it worked! I know it's not rooted though. Any tips on how to fix this?
Guest srooks Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Using recovery, I did a wipe. Worked after that.

Guest EddyOS Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 It's an issue with the update and Desire's that were on Orange but now debranded...
Guest Jompet Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 It's an issue with the update and Desire's that were on Orange but now debranded... Any idea how I fix it? I've noticed the Radio is a lot better since I got this update, so, if possible I'd like to fix the wifi issue rather than downgrading tp an older ROM, also the whole reason for me swapping my N1 for this Desire was that I didn't have to mess around with hacking any more and now look! ;)
Guest nEUTRon666 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 This also happened to german Providers/Phones, not only orange. The Problem might be that you had a branded phone, someone flashed a HTC Stock Firmware using a Goldcard and now you got the OTA Update but you HBOOT is still 0.75. Regular HTC Phones which were not branded had a 0.80 HBOOT after this OTA-Update. Just put in a Goldcard (if needed) and flash the HTC Stock 1.21.xx RUU. You will loose all your data, so do a backup, but this fixes WIFI Issue. Any idea how I fix it?
