As far as the Hero goes, about all you'll get is bare AOSP builds without Sense and more flaky ports. At this stage you can continue waiting a bit longer for 2.1, or finally realise that the phone is now quite old and you'll need to upgrade if you want a proper 2.2.

You might get a half-decent port with Sense if/when the Legend or something else with similar hardware gets an HTC sanctioned 2.2, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I agree with you dude, all we'll get is Half or Bare AOSP builds and Even if the Legend gets the 2.2 update, I don't think it will be able to run Flash because the guys at Adobe say that the MIN processor build should be ARM Cortex A8 or above.

So the Non-Snapdragon phones are out of luck.

At a push it would work on the ~700 mhz overclocked kernels, but that is just another drama to deal with. Definitely time to start considering upgrading my almost year-old hero. It's been good, sweet prince.
