Guest Jan Patat Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Hi! I tried to update my rooted desire with the new official FROYO update from HTC but it won't install. Guest irishandrew Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 It's a official system update that popped up on my phone. What is the configuration of your phone? What ROM are you running at the moment? Or any apps that would change the identifier? I know my Desire got recognised as a Nexus One by my Google A/C when I rooted it originaly as Google sent me an email congratulating me on my Nexus, and some of the modifications make the certain ROMs get recognised as a Nexus. If you are running a hacked Froyo ROM then it will also be recognised as a Nexus. Needless to say, Froyo has only been released for the Nexus at the moment, and despite the similarities between the nexus and desire - the ROMs are not compatable without being modified/ported like Paul has managed. As for the Desire - HTC will likely release a Sense-enabled version of Froyo whenever they are good and ready, which may be a while... HTH, Andrew.
