New Bricked liquid

Hi,

I got a Liquid from a friend, who tried to mess with it, and now it's not booting. Whenever I turn the power on, I see the Acer logo followed by a some animation with green (robot?!) and then the phone just restarts and shows the same two screens over and over.

I have no idea which ROM my friend tried to install, and he's unreachable at the moment. But I get to keep the phone if I save it's life ;)

Did some reading on the board, and saw that there was supposed to be a recovery console I could boot into, using camera + volume - . Didn't work for me.

Would be great if all of you android gurus could give me some advice on how to proceed to rescue the poor phone, and maybe even flash it with a 2.1 ROM...

To access the recovery console, disconnect and reconnect battery, connect the usb cable and then press and hold camera + volume up(+) + Power. From there you should be able to access recovery mode and eventually make the device visible to the acer tool to flash a clean rom.

Did just that now. Got a black screen with the following output:

Partition checksum

splashLchksum =8ba9da08 OK

boot:chksum=......... **fail**

recovery:chksum...... **fail**

system:chksum ..... **fail*

============

((FAIL))

Is this the point where i can install the rom?

thats because the USB lead is connected - disconnect it and do it again, it will work ;)

It worked! At first nothing was seem to be working, and then I started to push hard buttons with every combination I could think of, and suddenly the phone was recognized by USB on my computer and I was able to flash the ACER_LiquidE_0.004.01_EMEA_GEN1 ROM from the noobs post ;)

Now, however, I'm stuck and can't install superboot, so I can then install LCR 1.7 and get language support... I think my phone is somehow rewired differently :(

LCR is based on 1.005.

Damn, this is my try to upgrade to E_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 from the out of the box Liquid 1.004.02. Used Acer Download Tool and it was interrupted somewhere in between. Now trying to access recovery console, I see yellow exclamation mark ;) in a triangle :( . Any help , please...

Damn, this is my try to upgrade to E_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 from the out of the box Liquid 1.004.02. Used Acer Download Tool and it was interrupted somewhere in between. Now trying to access recovery console, I see yellow exclamation mark :lol: in a triangle :D . Any help , please...

when you got the triangle on the screen you also should be able to flash the bin again with the acer tool;) i think this should work am i right?

Finally all is working. Turns out I was using old software from the noobs thread on this forum, while there was a much newer superboot on the link you gave me.

Installed LCR 1.7, now all is working great!

I press the combo first and twice vibration, then connect USB cable. It can be in.
