Guest Streetdaddy Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 I have seen a thread on XDA about desire rebooting randomly. I have a similar problem, but my phone doesn't restart - it just turns itself off... I'll take my phone out of my pocket to find that it's off and I can find any reason why. Is it related to this restarting issue? It seems to happen at some point after I've made a call, but hard to say for sure. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there anyway I can debug it or see a log of what happens just before it turns off? My phone is rooted, running MCR 3.1 w/ A2SD+. Also have the battery indicator mod and changed the keys so 2x menu press wakes the phone, and power button doesn't put it to sleep. Guest Streetdaddy Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 I'm able to turn mine on again no problems... Are you running many of the same apps that I am? It did seem to start happening since I've installed the latest swype beta I think... But that's just a guess

Guest Sashimi Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 Hi guys, I've been getting the same problem, but actually, i don't think the phone turns off on itself, it just doesn't respond when pressing the main power button to bring it out of standby mode (maybe the device crashed and froze ?). That's why you need to take out the battery to actually switch it off then reboot it... I've had this issue since I upgraded to stock 1.23 rooted (without any apps to SD extra features)

When I find my phone off, I press the Power button and it has to boot up. So it is definitely OFF... So it sounds like still nobody who has the exact same problem that I do.... ;)

Guest Natbike Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 I'm having the same problem - I'm using the modaco 1.23 rooted, very things installed, just titanium backup, apps2sd+ really atm. I just received my Desire back from HTC. There is a known reboot issue (hardware) on models with serial numbers 03 to 07 (in the middle of the serial). Mine would reboot whenever on charge and using GPS for more than 30mins (like in the car trying to get somewhere). - Others do it when using the camera and or wifi. - More serious issues get stuck in reboot loops until they cool down. - Usually the phone will feel warm, front and back, at the bottom of the battery. It appears that the IC which controls radio/camera/gps overheats. HTC appear to replace the mainboard - mine came back with the same case (scratch on edge) and screen (oled) but a new IEMI (therefore mainboard?). Call the support number on the HTC.com website and they collect your phone (UPS), repair it, and get it back to you. Within 8 days for me. Good luck.
