Guest cruddasj Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 (edited) Hello MoDaCo, it has been a while :) As I have recently replaced my digitizer, it has given a new lease of life into my omnia. So much so, that although I said that I was leaving, I have come back to release a possibly final copy of True Blue and Black Beauty. True blue: It's my most polished ROM I have made to date and anyone that has tried True Blue in the past, I would reccomend flashing to it. The build seems stable and fast  It is basically what I believe WinMo 6.5 should have as default, a cross between speed, design and tools :D Memory figures are: Storage: Total: 150.12mb In use: 13.95 Free: 136.17 Program: Total: 97.24mb In use: 55.23 Free: 41.99 Changes include: Updated OS core Now use large icons Updated Google Maps to newest version Stripped out a lot of apps Sorted out icons in submenu's (except office, but its not very noticeable) Further improvements to touch response Test it and see what you think. From what I can see, there are no bugs :D DO NOT use a download manager to download the ROM as if you didn't know by now, they can corrupt the .exe Also check the MD5 checksum before flashing for reassurance Quick setup: Before you flash the ROM, make a folder on an SD card called 'XDA_UC' and put all your fav apps in it. Once ROM is flashed it will install all the apps that you place int he XDA_UC folder automatically. Download: http://www.4shared.com/file/ekAnIb8t/True_Blue_23569.html Black Beauty 23569: This is my take on a Manila ROM, with alot of effort put into the graphic design in the ROM. This again is my personal best version. Have improved touch response, fixed the icons etc Now if you turn the phone on its side, the background will cater for it (you have to select a different theme, then go back to the black one) unfortunately I can't cook it straight in =/ Build seems stable and faster than previous versions. Quick setup: Before you flash the ROM, make a folder on an SD card called 'XDA_UC' and put all your fav apps in it. Once ROM is flashed it will install all the apps that you place int he XDA_UC folder automatically. Once booted, select another theme - e.g. Black and Blue. Then select 'Black' again. All done :) Should have some nice looking theme/graphics etc :) As stated above, DO NOT use a download manager to download the ROM. It can very easily brick your phone if you do! Guest rosr Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Great work Can you work in the future rom OmniaLITE? thx
Guest cruddasj Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 hello james..long time no c... i'll definately try ur rom... and i also want to know that how much did it cost to replace digitizer?i want to change mine. Hey matey. How are you? The digitizer cost me £7 (including postage) here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT Have used them often and they're a good company  products have always arrived quickly and worked well. As fitted it myself, that was all the costs involved. A tech might charge you £10 extra, so your probs looking realisticly at about £20 if you take it to a shop. Great work Can you work in the future rom OmniaLITE? thx I've been asked this many times. To keep it short, no, I am not going to cook a ROM with omnialite apps installed. If cooked in, they can't be uninstalled. Just put the omnialite apps in the XDA_UC folder and it will overwrite the original samsung ones, installing the apps and keeping memory usage low.
Guest cruddasj Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 (edited) Just noticed that in landscape mode, there are only 3 columns for menus (e.g. start menu) Is this normal in the new builds? Edited June 26, 2010 by cruddasj
Guest acrocosm Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Ram usage is extremely high. ~42mb, why? 3 columns start menu doesn't sound normal. It should be 5
Guest cruddasj Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Ram usage is extremely high. ~42mb, why? 3 columns start menu doesn't sound normal. It should be 5 Fixed the colum issue, for some reason it was the default setting :s RAM usage with black beauty is high unfortunately, always has been. It's to do with the manila theme coupled with livvengloss i think. If you can find out how to lower it, let me know
Guest dollar99 Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 Hi cruddasj, welcome back to our forum one small doubt, not exactly regarding your rom I just observed it that the storage space in different roms are different for eg. In your rom it is Total: 150.12mb In Ock's rom, Total: 133.54mb In Nick's Rom Total: 150mb ~ In yonn1981 rom Total: 89.16mb How does it differ and is there any way to increase it.

I believe that the storage space is whatever is left after the ROM has been flashed. A light ROM usually gives more storage space. Unfortunately there's no way to change it without a kitchen and cooking your own ROM as it is on the cooking level that you can strip programs out to free up storage  If you want a light ROM, give true blue a whirl and let me know your thoughts :D Jay
Guest avarrous Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 "Black Beauty" That looks very nice ..Thank for the rom "is great"
Guest chrian Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Thank you for the Rom (Black Beauty). But I have a problem with mobile videos. When I take a video the camera programme says that the file is unavailable. I tried to play the video with media player but I saw the same message. I also tried with Core player and TCPMP but nothing. Does anybody know the solution?

Guest taktu Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Installed Black Beauty yesterday and I noticed that after unlocking the brightness remains dimmed, as if idle. The ambient sensor doesn't adjust anything, neither does the manual brightness slider. If i soft reset, I get full brightness until locking or using the power button. Does anybody have the same problem?
