trouble rooting *goldcard issues*

have a hard time trying to root my t mobile uk branded desire tryed all the methods r1 r4,r5,r6 and get stuck at exactley the same point,

step 1 does not install properley - custom id check 42 (along those lines)

i think its the goldcard ive tried both ways making a gold card by manually doing it and also using the program at klutsh,

ive got a feeling im using the wrong micro sd card ( do certain brands not work as gold cards?)

ive tried using two sandisk 2gb (from hero) and a unbraded 8gb sdhc

and all have failed me,

could anyone let me know if im doing anything wrong and what brands there microsd are so i may buy one later on today

my 2 gig Sandisk worked for me. I think it's just pot luck!

My everyday card - class 6 8gig Samsung - didnt work on Desire or Hero

did you use a card reader or do it all whilst the sd card was in the phone

solved bought a TSK micro sd card today and it worked first time

some sd cards just dont work
