Guest GriZlore Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 My Streak is now so much better... The Streak keyboard gets a little getting used to... until I tried Swype I am absolutely amazed how easy it is and how it has revolutionised my use of a keyboard It is absolutely fantastic I am not one to write reviews nor pay for software, however I would have happily have paid £25 for this... however luckily it can be obtained free here --> Swype (Text Input Screens) If you haven't tried it, then do... you'll thanks me. The Streak is my first Android phone and Swype is quite simply the best feature I have seen. ps - I do not work for swype, I am just bowled over on what a quality app this is! So, I thought I would share. Those who already know about it will have to excuse me, however I am sure they know what I mean Enjoy GriZlore
Guest streak dan Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Seconded. Swype is officially awesome.
Guest craigdabbs Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 i totally agree, there is a bit of a learning curve but once your there its brilliant. For tips look at a few of these tips http://www.swypeinc.com/tips-tricks.html a couple i use often are: swype key ---> sym = cursors and cut, copy, paste ect swype key ---> f = number pad

Guest fards Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 looks like the beta has ended unfortunately.
Guest mobiholic Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 I tried swype on the Galaxy S (comes preinstalled) and I was blown away by the speed and the accuracy of it, it's simply mind boggling that it works! That said I found it actually slowed me down when I was trying to enter text into the address bar of the browser and since I spend a lot of time browsing I reverted back to the already excellent samsung keypad. Very, very good while I was using it, just couldn't get on with it when inputting non-standard words such as domain names.
Guest GriZlore Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 (edited) Oh, I am really quick adding in the address bar. When you enter "www. " which it recognises... as does it hhtp:// and .com etc. If I am adding non-standard words like "modoco" it just type it on the keyboard as I would on a normal keyboard, then next time it remembers it. There is a tips video on that somewhere. Anyway, just my preferrence Edited July 4, 2010 by GriZlore
Guest ajw107 Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Hi Not sure if I'm doing something wrong here, but when I go to the Swype Beta area of the website I can't download. I register, which tells me the beta is closed, but I try to log in anyway, and no go. No activation email or anything is my inbox or junk mails? Anyone able to post the beta on here? Thanks

Thanks I'd say "google it" sarcastically but it'd take as much effort posting that as it did for me to link the .apk I found doing just that myself: e: Link removed :) e; My bad, doesn't look like that .apk is happy on a 800x480 screen. Searching for a more up to date version... Edited July 4, 2010 by squidgyb

Guest StarLog Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Swype was amazing on my G1, so I am hoping it will work just as good on my Streak when they are on sale in USA. My wife, will not use the standard keyboard, she swares by the swype. What a wonderful world we live in.

Guest deekarma Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 (edited) I have come to enjoy using swype but not its input method, it is the layout and button sizr I like. Only thing that bugs me is that you cant type "inline" in landscape. It always opens a new text box window. Anyone got a fix for this? Edited July 22, 2010 by deekarma
