how to remove chinese input language in simfree desire

Hi

I just bought a simfree desire in Shanghai. It works great except for the language input where there is no option for 'keyboard calibration' rather just shows ' chinese input' methods.

How can i remove the Chinese input methods and replace it with english only (UK version would be nice).

some info that i could gather about the phone is as under which comes up when i reboot holding the back button:

you will not be able to remove CIME without rooting your phone, please check sticky topics -- there's rooting how-to there.
