Google have released the source for Android 2.2 (froyo) link and there's already a Nokia N900 running 2.2 thanks Engadget

Are people working on 2.2 for the Streak? Have Dell officially announced a time frame for having a release of 2.2 out yet?

when we get an update im assumin that it will it be an O2 skinned update but hosted on dells own servers? I ask this as our streaks will update from dell but must have some O2 related changes made to it. This was posted on the guardian blog yesterday about froyo.

"The key features of the latest Android software update"

Vodafone told the Guardian that it is in the process of getting approval of its own version of Android 2.2, and that the software upgrade will be rolled out to customers in due course. The mobile network also encouraged those planning to make use of Froyo's tethering capabilities to consider signing up to a Vodafone price plan, saying that 3G tethering would eat into a user's data tariff.

O2 said there was no specific timeframe for when the update would be available, but that it should be by the end of the week.

I think they are probably talking about the N1 and not the streak. I mean desire.
