hmm not sure if my unit is defective or not but here's the thing...

i've had 2 Streaks now, returned the first one because it just wont charge, everytime i connect the charger it just gives me an error saying --cannot charge, might be a broken batter or charger-- **not hte exact words but close to it.

So due to this, i returned it to O2 and got a new unit, it was a week ago, but now i got the same error again, upon charging it from a drained battery, the screen popped up with the image of the 32pin connector plus the question mark above it, this is from the 2nd unit i got from o2.. i had to move it a bit for it to start charging..

i just want to know if anybody else is getting the same error? cuz i find it rather impossible to get 2 defective units in a row.. I've been very careful/handle on how i connect my charger to avoid getting a pin damaged *if thats even possible, if it is, i doubt i broke one since i've been very very careful about it.**

Thanks a lot for your time

** And i love the streak! Yeh it may be big,my HTC Desire, the Desire feels really really small lately when handled... XD

No problems with charging mine at all but you really shouldn't be letting your battery drain to empty anyway as the battery in the Streak is a Li-ion polymer battery so can be charged back to full anytime with no damage where as letting it drain to empty is not good for it and in fact it will damage it and reduce its performance. When it's completely empty are you trying to charge it with the Streak turned off or on? and are you charging it from the mains or from a Computer? As in those circumstances i would advise starting the charge with the Streak off for at least the first 10-15 minutes and charging from the mains. I have to say i have found both battery life and charging times to be excellent on my Streak quite often after 16 hrs i can have as much as 43% left and the lowest mine has gone before charging is 23% even when it was that low i think it only took about an hour to fully charge from the mains.

Hi there,

I had a charging issue as well,

When my streak totally ran out of battery, when i plugged in the charger and hit the power button i got the battery with the ? Mark.

The only way around it that i found was to take back off, take battery totally out, put battery back in, plug in charger wait a min or 2 then hit power button n hey presto my fabulous streak was back in action.

Anyway not sure if this helps but thought i'd mention it.

Yeah. The Question mark is normal for empty power.

It needs some time to get back to normal power then to power on.
