Guest sml12 Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 I bought a Liquid as soon as they were released. I donated some dollars to maxisma hoping for some great new features. Now .. months down the track .. it looks like there are some great new options with Android updates. But where should I start? Which ROM/Android version do you recommend? Can you suggest a thread please. What should I install first & how?

Guest Piter1225 Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 I bought a Liquid as soon as they were released. I donated some dollars to maxisma hoping for some great new features. Now .. months down the track .. it looks like there are some great new options with Android updates. But where should I start? Which ROM/Android version do you recommend? Can you suggest a thread please. What should I install first & how? First of all, I think the best option at the moment is flashing official LiquidE ROM: Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 -> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MM62W37I It is good point to start with some goodies for Liquid If you don't know how to flash bin, there is a tutorial written by malez: http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-commu...uidCommunityROM Than you can install recovery, which is very useful tool in daily usage of Liquid: http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-malez-recovery/ How to install recovery: http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-malez...ki/howToInstall The next step for me should be flashing custom ROM, but if you don't want to, you can use the stock ROM, and enable root access in recovery. After installing custom ROM you get root without playing with recovery Which custom ROM should you try first? I would recommend LCR 1.6 for the beginning Of course, there is LCR 1.7, which is also great ROM. It is up to you which one you will choose LCR homepage: http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-commu...rom-bugtracker/ There is download section, including both LCR 1.6 and LCR 1.7 There is also great wiki with tutorials how to install things nad so on. If you want to gain some speed wih your LCR, you can flash phh's overclocked kernel There is bunch of other good stuff, like themes, other custom ROM's, I think that trying everything will give you full view on what is really important and useful to you, so you can configure your Liquid as you want
Guest dr3amz Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 stick with either stock (bit slow now) or Eclair 2.1 (rom 1.100.05) all the new roms are buggy in some way (wifi/overheating etc) and until they're fixed/finished I'd only recommend a stock rom from here on
Guest sml12 Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 Thank you very much  I will get started as soon as I can find a Windows PC in the next few days.
Guest Nesli Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 Better 1.100.15 BIN with Piter“s MOD  Rock stable and fast ROM :D
