Guest il_cholo Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 I´m having an issue when I try to flash my 8220-6 with any UPDATA.APP, I follow the steps to update the OS from dload on SD but when the phone reboots to start flashing it shows the huawei image and after a minute it continues to boot the old OS like the flashing part is being skiped. this isssue happens with any UPDATA.APP even to the one of my carrier I put the phone into bootloader menu (the blue screen with vol down + end + turn on) to check the information and for me shows: USB FastBoot: V0.5 Machine ID: 1007000 v0 Build Date: Dec 18 2009, 01:23:43 Serial Number: UNKNOWN I compared it with another phone that another person got from the same carrier that I did (movistar argentina) and shows: USB FastBoot: V0.5 Machine ID: 1007000 v0 Build Date: Apr 19 2010, 10:20:03 MSM Id: 16 MSM Version: 2.0 Modem Build Id: 76XXC-6383-SDCBALYM Serial Number: UNKNOWN ptn 0 name='boot' start=304 len=20 ptn 1 name='system' start=324 len=880 ptn 2 name='userdata' start=1204 len=642 ptn 3 name='cache' start=1846 len=160 ptn 4 name='recovery' start=2006 len=38 ptn 5 name='misc' start=2044 len=4 It seems that mine has something wrong? I tried also with vol up + end + turn on and says update failed every time. at this point I´m only able to update using a zip file using amon ra or restores of nandroid. maybe someone has any clue of what is going on and enlight me. any help will be appreciated.

Guest Speckles Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 The blue screen is fast boot, the contents of that shouldn't matter as it doesn't affect the update screen. Please post the content of the log file in the dload directory.

Thanks for your reply, I don´t get any log in there, my SD card is an 8gb with only one partition using FAT32, cache is 0 and ext2 is 0. I partitioned it using among ra utility.
Guest il_cholo Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 I managed to get another 2gb memory and copied dload to root and got update failed with a log this time **** SD download log **** Failure: OEMSBL version unmatched. Guest twrock Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 update I managed to update with 2gb SD, now I have no 3G but that is another story Just for future reference, each attempt of mine to use any update was always different in what happened. So if you don't first succeed, try again. Some of the "tricks" I tried included:Reformatting the SD cardDeleting and re-copying the /dload folderUsing the "downgrade" to get back to the basic 1.5 firmware, and then doing the update I really wanted. When an update failed and the phone was still able to boot, wiping again.Lather, rinse, repeat (ok, this one was a joke) Disclaimer: I don't have a 8220-6.
