Bluetooth - "paried by not connected" issue with parrot handsfree

Hi - got an N1 a couple of days ago and love it - there's just this one thing.

I have a Parrot CK3000EVO hands-free bluetooth kit installed in my car - this has worked with pretty much any phone I had before (Nokia, Samsung, HTC Diamond) - but with the N1 I'm having issues.

Basically I can pair it successfully (parrot has a voice telling me so too), but on the phone is says "paried by not connected" and won't work. Also - if i turn off the car and back on again the parrot device acts as if no phone is paried with it and asks me to pair a device! This has never happened with any other phone.

I've googled this issues (and searched this forum) and the only thing I found was this guy saying he called parrot and they gave him a "solution" which didn't work for me anyway.

HELP - anyone??

I've got an MK9100, which pretty much happens the same as you described, the only solution i found is to:

* Wait for the BT to connect as soon as you switch the engine ON or via a switch (Mine got fitted with a On/Off Switch)

* As soon as the BT connects to your phone, which the connection usually doesnt last for more than a couple seconds, just DISABLE the BT on your mobile ONLY and then switch the BT back ON.

* Wait for the phone to automatically connect back with the Parrot and access the VOICEMAIL via the phone's Keypad '1', if you hear the voicemail via the Parrot BT, thats Done.

I can only hope that this method works the same with you.

So - i must have BT enabled on the phone (does it have to be discoverable?), i switch on the ignition (no switch on mine), it should connect (not sure mine does this cos' the parrot just says "please pair device"), i toggle BT off and then back on !?

Worth a try i guess - will do so tomorrow!

The BT stack on the N1 is, well to put it bluntly, Lame... I have issues whenever I need to have two BT devices hooked up at the same time. One for Music/audio and one for phone... And once I have both synced and connected my voice calls have a crackel sound in them. The crackle goes away just as soon as I turn off my Audio Bluetooth device.

Weak.

I am not having that same experience, I drive around all day listening to bluetooth audio while my phone is connected to HF for phone calls and it sounds perfectly clear. I connect in my car to a Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT which has Parrot BT module built in to it.

Update on the situation:

I tired what kwazyivan suggested but no luck ... but...

I read that ppl where having some luck using the "Bluetooth File Transfer" app from the marketplace. So I installed that and using the following weird step I got it to work:

1. Pair the phone to the Parrot CK3100Evo kit from the phone's standard BT menu - it will pair but not connect - at this point switch off your car's BT (in may case that means turning off the engine) and then back on again! If it's behaving like mine it will ask you to pair a phone (which you just did but it ignored!).

2. Load up Bluetooth File Transfer and go to the Remote Files tab

3. It should list the parrot as a device - select it and it will ask you to pair - do it. Note: it asked me to pair twice (do it), and it also gave me an error saying that this device doesn't support file transfers - ignore all of that.

4. Once paired thru' Bluetooth File Transfer .... it worked!

You don't need to do this every time - the next time i used the car it simply worked! The only annoying this is that the phone asked you if you want to allow Bluetooth File Transfer to enable discovery for 300s every time you turn BT on....
