I thought that if I rang them then they would send a magic update package down my landline which would then jump to my mobile and install it...
Guest Speckles Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Well the Pulse does support OTA updates, so they could update your phone remotely.

Guest Epic-Emodude Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 If they do release this supposed U8220+ do you think that it could come bundled with 2.1?
Guest MarcusHenrique Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Why the heck you guys are still concerned about official UK 2.1? Install hungarian one, get a custom rom and be happy! BTW, I'm pretty sure you're all on that  If you want to wait for something, wait for dev guys to achieve 2.2 for us! Now THAT will bring us THE joy! :D
Guest Ellia Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 The HU upgrade contains annoying bugs like the SMS receiving problem...
Guest MarcusHenrique Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 The HU upgrade contains annoying bugs like the SMS receiving problem... Hm.. Isn't that fixed with some custom rom? I've runned the Switzerland update instead, and EVERYTHING, i mean really everything is working well with flibblesan's rom.

Aaron I aksed TMob support on twitter why their online chat operator was saying that 2.1 was available, this was their reply: The Pulse does not have 2.1 at present but we are testing. They may have been confused with the Pulse Mini. Edited June 29, 2010 by Sengadog

Guest Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 just got a reply on twitter regarding android 2.1 on our pulse (seems positive) :D ;) " TmobileUKhelp Hi there, we are currently testing this on our network. Once we have more info we will tweet. Thanks for your patience." As much as I'm anticipating the release of their UK ROM, I highly doubt I will run it because of how bad T-Mobile ROMs have run in the past (regarding speed, not stability). However, someone might be able to pull apart this ROM and find some hidden gems to improve the current 2.1 custom ROM experience
Guest Simon O Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Yep, I've been in contact with T-Mobile about the ROM. Huawei recently send them an updated version of the T-Mobile Hungary ROM along with full 2.1 source, vendor files and kernel source. Huawei cannot release any of this code themselves but T-Mobile have promised me that once testing is complete they will release the vendor files and kernel source to me (and make the kernel available on the website). The release of the 2.1 ROM entirely depends on it's stability (cue laughter) and free space for apps. I've used the Tre rom recently and that had a lot more free space than the T-Mobile ROM did. Huawei are also starting to odex ROMs for some small devices so it's entirely possible they have done this to the T-Mobile UK rom which will give another 10MB of free space for apps on /data So whenever the ROM is released you'll be looking at about 40-50MB free space for apps. That's certainly better than the Hungarian ROM (and I'm still convinced that was a BETA).
