Guest Stelard Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Sorry, I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I've looked all over the place and everyone is talking about kitchens and online kitchens, but everywhere seems to assume you already know what they are. I've kind of gathered a kitchen is some... thing that lets you build a ROM of your own by picking what features you want from the ones on offer in the kitchen. Am I correct? And what exactly does an online kitchen entail?

Myself coming from a Windows Mobile background, chefs always cooked up a rom in there own "kitchen" and they uploaded pretty much static roms that you were unable to customise your self. This is a really cool feature. Post # 2 in: http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...en-froyo-frf83/ Includes the online kitchen Edited June 29, 2010 by McPondy

That article's links seem to point to regular archive files. Does this mean the online kitchen is an app you run on the phone itself...?
Guest McPondy Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Well I havent actually used it myself, I am just using one of the pre-cooked roms, but you can select what you would like using the tick boxes, and then there is a generate button (if you are a paid member) and it spits out a rom based on your choices. I may be wrong lol, but thats what I am assuming, I havent actually used it myself.
Guest squrl Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 The online kitchen allows you to select features on the fly and then it spits out a kind of customised rom. That is correct. Direct link to the kitchen is here. Do not confuse the kitchen for pre-baked files!
Guest tommo123 Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 thanks to the OP for posting this, i was hesitant to ask  that sounds like a nice feature!
Guest squrl Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Don't worry to ask about anything! MoDaCo community is friendly, at least I'd say

Kitchen is here, 2nd post down, just tick the boxes you want and press 'bake' it then downloads the rom for you. You have to be a paid up ad free or plus member to use it through- a Tenner well spend IMO. online kitchen/desire

Log-in and follow this link. It will take you to the on-line kitchen for MCR's Desire Froyo WIP (Work In Progress). Just tick what you want, untick what you don't want and press bake, save the ZIP to your SD card and flash it. Try baking a few versions and flashing to see what you like. Just saw squirreleater's post, sorry for the double-post. Edited October 2, 2010 by volatile_ink

Guest bpivk Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 no download link...There aren't any download links. Just check the features you want and then click the bake button (the large oven at the bottom). Then you'll receive the new rom.
