Guest atomkinder Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 I don't use my phone to actually make phone calls very often but when I do I get between seventeen seconds and a minute and a half to talk to the person to whom I'm speaking and then the call is dropped. Every time. Without fail. I know T-mobile has a terrible network, I was with them when they were one-2-one in the '90s and it has taken more than ten years for me to give them another chance. However this is so far from acceptable it can't just be them. I'm using the Hungarian ROM, without the second part of the update. In a vain attempt to conserve app-space. And I updated to this the same day I got the phone so I cannot vouch for whether the handset was exhibiting the same behaviour under the stock 1.5 ROM. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? A quick search of the forum implies not, so should I be looking to roll the update back and return the handset under warranty?

Guest geekmystique Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 For me the Pulse has proved to have good reception and audio quality, on my "B" carrier it performs just as well as my old Nokia. In some spots 3G phone calls are dropped, even with full reception (network cause, also on other phone hardware), i think because the networks were not designed with the current load in mind. In those areas I always switch the device back to "2G Only" mode, and I have had zero drops with this setting. EDGE is fast enough for most Apps so sometimes I have my phone on EDGE for days on end.
Guest Azurren Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Yeah the use only 2g networks option really helps. I have had one doped call when driving with 3g. Never had one one 2g only  Tmobile ofc
