WHATT DOES THE TERM PHONE PART OR RADIO MEAN?

hello everyone.. i came across this term "phone part .. and "radio" a few times on this forum.. but i am really not able to understand what it means..

actually i have been around here for more than 10 months , and i have been flashing my device too for a long time. i have tried almost every rom on this forum.. i have been really thankful to this forum for making me love my omnia... but it might really sound funny to some people that i m really unfamiliar with the term "phone part" and " radio" when talking about the rom .. so someone please tell me what it means .. in a broad sense.. and also tell on how to change the phone part... i found this topic which says .. Best radio/phone ROM for i900 at the moment? SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS

Well, the phone part or radio rom is the part of phones software that is responsible for reception of calls, sound quality during calls and also for wifi and bluetooth. Take it that way also: if you have poor radio, that equals poor reception, therefore phone is looking for signal and draining the battery. So good radio means no problem with what I mentioned. If you experience problems with any of these things, then try and change the radio.

if it's going wrong, your phone is probably unusable.

If you download a rom without the phone/radio part, windows will be replaced but your phone part will be untouched.

ohh..thanx for ur reply ( this is a part where you call ur contacts with ) ??...... still not getting it...

but thanx for telling that the phone part upgrading is only for the experienced users... cozz i might not touch it if its so risky .... but if i m right the phone part is also awailable in an exe .. is it still very risky???

thanx so much for sharing this usefull information... now i know what radio / or phone part means.. and i dont have much of problem with the phone part .. or the battery .. my battery goes for a full day .. or even a day and a half...

can u also share which is the best phone radia/ or the phone part right now?? ( with the link)..
