Guest Nik_Doof Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) Update files are available on mobileupdate.dell.com! http://mobileupdate.dell.com/LatestBuild/LatestBuild_21.html 4399 DOWNLOAD (MediaFire Pro) http://mobileupdate.dell.com/LatestBuild/LatestBuild_31.html Also, _21 shows 4399 as the latest... [Edit] going on a hunch here, but as my "OEM version" and baseband version end in 21, maybe the two different pages are for hardware revisions, and might explain the FOTA errors people are getting. Guest rovex Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) Ok wow, the second one did install ok! Im now running on build 4399! It did kill root though. Edited June 29, 2010 by rovex
Guest gingernator Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Files are actually up on mobileupdate.dell.com as well now, a lot faster download. http://mobileupdate.dell.com/LatestBuild/LatestBuild_31.html http://mobileupdate.dell.com/LatestBuild/LatestBuild_21.html Also, _21 shows 4399 as the latest... [Edit] going on a hunch here, but as my "OEM version" and baseband version end in 21, maybe the two different pages are for hardware revisions, and might explain the FOTA errors people are getting. You're right. I'm probably going to regret this but i've successfully upgraded to the 4399 build. Still 1.6
Guest rovex Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Is it just me or is the device faster now? It benches the same, but it feels snappier.
Guest rovex Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 So theres no difference at all then? Hard to say. No extra features that ive noticed, but it feels faster. Need root back though.
Guest Andy Garton Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) I've had no success installing any of the update files so far on my rooted Streak. It launches the update, reboots, and I get the Android exclamation/update icon. If I then press the power button I get some TTY output along the lines of: Finding update package... Opening update package... Verifying update package... E: signature verification failed ... is this because I've rooted and installed the custom recovery image? Any ideas how I can get round it please? Cheers, Andy Edited June 29, 2010 by Andy Garton
Guest rovex Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 The current root method works fine on the 4399 build.
Guest popetodd Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Yup, loads fine, roots fine and seems snappier (though that could just be some wishful thinking...). Maybe now it will keep the connections up as we zip past towers on my commute train. No, that is not a report of connection problems, my other cell phones have trouble with the ever changing tower connections as well at 90+ MPH.

Guest Paul Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 This is what im getting as well... You'll need to reflash stock recovery, i'll post details on how to do this today. P
Guest courtlandre Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Hard to say. No extra features that ive noticed, but it feels faster. Need root back though. Does it feel faster because it reset it back to stock? Or do you still have all your apps and settings preserved?
Guest marra2 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 downloading now will see if this one installs ! But why when we check for updates on our streaks it says device up to date ?
Guest rovex Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Does it feel faster because it reset it back to stock? Or do you still have all your apps and settings preserved? No it doesnt reset the phone everything is still there.
Guest courtlandre Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 downloading now will see if this one installs ! But why when we check for updates on our streaks it says device up to date ? It's probably not meant for us yet.

"O2 said there was no specific timeframe for when the update would be available, but that it should be by the end of the week."

Which update are you referring to : 2.2?? Makes a little bit of sense that Dell would release the streak with 1.6 to get it into the market earlier (pre iPhone 4) then release a 2.2 update along with most other Manufactures (HTC etc..)... I think ive watched too many conspiracy theory films recently...
Guest the_didge Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 (edited) Strange... Just checked and im still on 3883 after the update... Its a completely stock phone. And now the download isnt on the phone... redownloading again. Edited June 30, 2010 by the_didge

Guest yosemite-sam Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 (edited) O2 doesnt have the N1 so why would they comment on when froyo will be available from them for it? im probably putting 2 + 2 together and getting 5 as well lol my thoughts were that dell are selling this stock so will have their own update and o2 would have one as well. could this be a reason to why different updates are listed? o2 would only have to put the word out that theyve uploaded their update onto dells server.
