Guest mr_tolkien Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Hello, I lack certain apps in the Android Market, and I really don't get why. I'm using 1.100.15 bin, LCR 1.7, and the 880MHz custom Kernel. I'm trying to dl Mario Live Wallpaper, which I see on my Desire but not on my Liquid  Any help will be greatly appriciated !!!
Guest HustlinDaily Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 This is weird. Does your Desire use the same network provider as your Liquid? I know carriers are allowed to block certain market applications. For example, AT&T sim cards block PDANet/EasyTether from the market (tho no clue why in hell they would block a Mario live wallpaper). Try removing your simcard and browsing the market in WiFi. See what happens.
Guest daft009 Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 pretty sure you need to unlock your market.. install malez recovery and it has an option to unlock the market
Guest Ultimate Chicken Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Just a quick note: even if you unlock your market, it's still able to tell what cellphone you're logging on with, and what version of Android it originally comes with. You can access the global market but it will STILL block apps that it regards your set as "unable to support". It does NOT care whether you've installed a custom ROM or not. According to xda-developers, this is why the Mario Live Wallpaper doesn't appear for everyone, even with an unlocked market.
Guest HustlinDaily Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 I just searched for Mario Live Wallpaper here in the United States and no results showed up. So basically you are saying that all Liquids are blocked from this because it came with 1.6? Market can't tell that you are on 2.1? That is weird. I have downloaded apps specifically for 2.1 before (and even downloaded Flash which is 2.2 when I had 2.2) and never got blocked. Guess some apps are blocked and some are not. Do you think this would change after Acer releases official 2.1 update?
Guest Quipeace Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 (edited) I'm using it right now on Froyo, so that isn't the problem. Edited July 4, 2010 by Quipeace
