Up to date or not???

Maybe you guys can help me out a bit. I have a question. I want to know if i am running the latest version of android or not. Awhile back i updated my phone, and now i am displaying Android 2.2 and Build number FRF50. I see every where that there is a new version of 2.2 named froyo 2.2 FRF85B, and i think that i need to update. But i don't see anywhere instructions on how to do that manually on rooted phones, and then how to root and obtain power SU. Thanks.

this a rom that contains the latest and greatest including FRF85B just follow his instructions if your phone is rooted,

If its not there are a few threads stickified on top to help you go through the stages.

1. put a recovery image (also a thread up in the forum)

2. install a custom rom like the one in the link, and power su will already be included with a lot of other goodies.

Hang fire, another update has popped up this evening! (FRF91)

I expect Paul will have a look in the morning if he's in the office.........

I got the update notification today, freaked me out since I didn't think and OTA updates would show up since I am running R20. Paul tweeted this

"If you're running MCR Froyo and get prompted to OTA update, cancel it, it won't apply anyway. My FRF91 coming today."

I did try to run the update to see what would happen but it failed once it booted into Amon_RA recovery "failed verification"

Yeah, threw me a bit as I'm running MCR 20 , as you say, ignore it.
