Not for free, but there are people on eBay who charge as little as £6.50 for an Unlock Code.

Just check they're feedback.

I'm nothing to do with the company but I recommend the company stickied at the top of the hero forums...I tried someone off ebay first and got nothing usable but they sorted me out no probs :lol:

Also when buying a refurbished phone from 3 what should a person expect? Scratches, brown box, missing accessories, etc.?

I'm guessing it would be a return (either unwanted or repaired faulty). Shouldn't be cosmetically damaged unless they tell you, and I'd expect it to come with standard accessories, but may be brown box as you said.
