Does anyone in this world fixed the omnia's wi-fi problem?

Is this possible?

My omnia didnt conect to my home wi-fi or any other spot, secured or unsecured.

There is a solution?

I'm almost giving up.

1 year and nothing.

I'm thinking about sell my omnia if i didnt find an answer...

tks in advance,

Zeh

Not all routers are compatible with i900. Either this is the problem or you have messed with the settings. Try to Hard Reset and try again, but not with your home network. Try a number of other networks. If it still doesn't work, then maybe it is a hardware problem.

I know exactly what he is talking about. But I don't know a solution.

I can connect and surf at work which is good because no 3G in the crapper. (linksys with wep encryption)

I have never been able to use any hot spots what so ever.

Here's where it is weird. At home I have tried every configuration and encryption, it connects I see the attached device in the router. I can use remote desktop to control my train layout through wifi with my omnia i910. And control other computers in my home. BUT I CAN NEVER SURF ON A BROWSER. At home I have a netgear g something I even went as far as purchasing a linksys and could not get wifi browsing to work at home (so I took it back).

It was never a deal breaker for me though just confusing. And with the traveling I do with a band in the states the big red has never left me without 3G or service. It's funny how worthless an iphone can be in the middle of North Dakota.

good day.

@ zehdoboneh you should at least put a country and which omnia in your profile.

It has nothing to do with router compatibility, wifi is wifi, Your phone after hard reset has to work, if not, then most likely your phone is broken. Try to flash Your phone with newest official ROM and see what will happen.

have had similar connection problems with my i900. It will happily connect me to my home network (or other hotspots) for a while, then, every now and then when I turn it on, (the wifi that is) it will not connect, just be active and state the there is a wifi connection available. sometimes I can go into the wifi settings, select the network and then hit connect and have it connect, other times it will not.

The closest thing i have to a fix for that is the old - turn off the wifi and then turn it back on again.

I have to assume that it is some sort of weird driver caching issue that is the cause, but that's only a guess.

Have you checked if the wifi adapter is set to connect to WORK and not internet? If its set to internet, its going to try to connect to the phones internet connection

Hi,

if you really want to solve this problem, the flash your device with the latest ROM Version, available at the Samsung's official website. Or alternatively you can also download it from this forum.

thanks.

Hi Zeh, and all MoDaCo folks, using WM 6.5.x on Omnia i900

I recently upgraded my Omnia i900 WM 6.1 for WM 6.5 Rom cooked by steff195 : http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...custom-rom-out/. I'm using the 64618 release as last release numbered 64623 freeze on some operations on my device.

Worried by your message, I just checked my home Wi-Fi connection, and it works, surfing with IE, getting XTRA GPS data, e-mail, etc. My router is a Netgear WNR2000, with WPA-PSK TKIP access protection.

I guess WM 6.5 Rom is not the only issue (maybe not the issue at all), Phone Part should have something to deal with...

For some weeks now, I'm using DXIF1 as recommanded by other users http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...-at-the-moment/

You can download this phone part here : http://www.mediafire.com/?mundjndn2yk

Regards, Thierry

I have never had an issue with my wifi. Used it in hotspots all across the US and Caribbean. It auto detects and if the network is unsecured, it gets on just fine. My home network is secured and only during the initial setup did I have to put in a passwork. Good luck with finding a solution to your problem.

When cooking a ROM the chefs only cook the PDA part. It's possible that something was left out by the chef. I rarely hear about a WiFi issue and so far 100% of the time it turned out to be a non-phone related

With that being said we got no reply from the poster for about a month and a half so let's just end this thread

hi everybody,

I`m new with i900 Omnia and i have problem with WiFi,

when I turn ON WiFi with Wireless Manager just write "Unavailable" and after 10-15 min show a message that is found the Internet,I click OK and agen write "Unavailable" and Internet is not locked and router is 5m from the phone.

I have checked "Turn on available network notification".

once he managed to connect and then the connection is always fired.

where is a problem?

maybe the problem is ROM ?

how much time you need to find a new connection when you turn ON WiFi with Wireless Manager ?

this is my version of the ROM and I want to change it to better that will not make a problem, if the problem is Rom.
