My new pulse arrived today (bought for wife as she liked mine)

On setup I was trying to get Wi-fi to access my network but if won't connect.

Could the Wi-fi be faulty or is there something I can do.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New phone arrived today, so popped home lunchtime to check and phone does exactly the same as before.

Detects my network

I input WEP code and then it says disconnected.

I can't figure out what's going on.

wifi is really tempremental, only works when it wants to really

It seems to prefer some Wifi access points over others. If it doesn't like yours, it can be quite temperamental. If you things like "104MBPS" or such stuff on your box, switch it off and use standard 'b/g' instead.

Can you install apps over 3G? Try installing something like wifinder

http://www.pgmsoft.com/apps/wifinder_for_android/

Should at least show you a list of wifi networks in your area and show you additional details about those networks

My other pulse works without a problem

It lists all local wifi (about 5) including mine but just won't connect.

It says scanning then disconnected.

My one works perfectly so if this is like this then it's on its way back tomorrow for an exchange.

have you got your wifi 'hidden', by that i mean that only certain MAC adresses are able to see it?

thats how mine is set up to be super safe:D

Nope it's not hidden. It shows up in the list and when I click to connect it just says under Wi-fi

searching

disconnected

can you connect to other wifi networks?

perhaps it's not a pulse problem but a router problem...

sometimes there's a max client restriction, and the router saves a list of the clients that have connected to it...

maybe you should reboot your router and try to re connect?

I've had several devices connect at the same time and recently reduced the amount of devices by half so I can't see that being the issue.

T Mobile didn't even question or try to fix it over the phone. Just agreed to replace.

See update in original post.

Any update on this.

my pulse , which is 4 days old is the same as yours.

It did connect on day 1, but after that keeps saying disconnected. I have even updated to 2.1 - but still got same prob.

We have 3 Pulses in the house, one of them doesn't like the Wifi.

After much playing around trying to figure it out, I found by pressing the reset button on the back of the router works every time, put the phone into wifi search just after the router has settled back down.

Strange but true.....
