Guest rhotov Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) Upgrade from official FRF85B http://android.clients.google.com/packages...5B.db99fdf1.zip Still looking for patchnote  Edited July 1, 2010 by rhotov
Guest Serpentis Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 It's dubbed "Security update" it seems. Someone said it looks like it's targeting gmail.apk, but I have the feeling it may also fix the recent exploit that allows to root without unlocking the bootloader.
Guest geniusdog254 Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 but I have the feeling it may also fix the recent exploit that allows to root without unlocking the bootloader. I doubt it. Unless it also upgrades your recovery image there is no way to patch it. I haven't looked at the update yet, so I don't know. If it does update recovery, then yeah I'd say its probably gone
Guest Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 I am not an android dev, but It looks like there is a new recovery image indeed.
Guest McNexus Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 Would be nice if the MCR could connect to a kitchen and download an update instead of connecting to google for official OTA.

Paul has tweeted he will update the Froyo rom today to cover this latest update. If you are running a rom that is! It may re-lock the phone- no way of telling so best not to. If you are stock still then by all means download it, nothing to loose.
