Guest nick_sub Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Hi. Just got my Pulse yesterday and very very impressed with it. I've still got the screen protector on but am thinking about changing it for one of these on ebay (see link below) as I don't like using cases. They seem to be cut to the correct shape which is nice. Has anyone else tried them? If so what was the screen's responsiveness like compared to the one it's shipped with? Thanks. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6x-screen-protector-...=item2a0851b42e

The good thing they are 6, so I used three of them to place one. It doesnt look nice tough, the edges are not laying properly on some places. To not make my answer long I must tell you you must have a BIG experience to place those correctly. Will rather spend more money next time. Edit: Next time I will go for something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vikuiti-DQC-160-scre...=item27b311aebe Edited July 3, 2010 by brack
Guest YusufP Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 I am warning you, STAY AWAY! I brought these exact ones from eBay, the six pack. Firstly, the postage will take about 2 weeks to come, I never realised either but they are from Germany. Secondly, the quality itself, I also made the mistake of taking off the original protector and putting faith in these ones, they are POOR! They are super thin and are basically stickers, I applied one to the screen, and due to the pure sticker nature of it, many many bubbles came up which do not go away. I tried them, one after the other, all to the same effect. To me, its not the money, their well cheap, its just the disappointment that bothers me. So yeah, before you make the mistake, keep the original protector on. If your not bothered, then just take the screen protector off, the screen responsiveness definitely improves and due to the screen being constructed of extrememly hard plastic, or maybe glass? It does not scratch, even after a month of normal use (In my pocket and bag). Hope this helps.
Guest nick_sub Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Two great replies - thanks very much. I will definately give them a miss then and will keep the original protector on for now.

Guest gusthy Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 About bubbles: the classic way to avoid bubbles s to apply the protector with a credit card slooooowly.
Guest bounty123 Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Great decision, you will not regret. Actually it's wrong decision. he should just get the bloody protector off, and use the phone without it, much better experience. I'm using mine without protector for 7 months now, and there are no scratches whatsoever. So why use one? Just keep it in a pouch when you carry it in your bag.
Guest yurganov Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 I have booked these (maybe not these, but from this seller) screen protectors. It comes to Russia in 1 week, and i can't said6 that they are bad. It is middle-quality. But I pay about 4$ and happy.
Guest darkdevil1 Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 (edited) I also made the mistake of buying the Ebay ones, and have similar experiences to the ones posted above. Definitely steer clear of those Actually it's wrong decision. he should just get the bloody protector off, and use the phone without it, much better experience. I removed mine after a few months and the screen is so much more responsive. I don't have the problem of touches not being registered (especially around the edges) any more either. Still scratch-less as well, since it comes with a cover anyway. Edited July 4, 2010 by darkdevil1
Guest carlx Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 I got these and agree with most of what has been said they are thin and difficult to put on but then you do get 6 for about £3 which is good as you only need one so if it take more than one go which it did then that is fine by me as for Delivery time it was as stated 3-5 day to the UK which it was so the same if not better than UK seller but it's your money i like to have protector on but they are not a necessity.
Guest edingal Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 I ordered these too, delivery was actually very quick but was very disappointed in the quality, so difficult to put it on and gave up coz I was sick of the bubbles
Guest brack Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 About bubbles: the classic way to avoid bubbles s to apply the protector with a credit card slooooowly. The card solution is the only one I know and used but it didnt help a lot with these particular "stickers" Actually it's wrong decision. he should just get the bloody protector off, and use the phone without it, much better experience. I'm using mine without protector for 7 months now, and there are no scratches whatsoever. So why use one? Just keep it in a pouch when you carry it in your bag. Right or wrong to place protection on the screen is subjective, I might remove my stickers too and use the phone without them, BUT, the question was about decision to purchase those particular protectors, so the decision to NOT TO was right.
Guest puzzlebs Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 (edited) got this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003FHS...ref=oss_product but are quite thin and if you keep it in pocket sooner or later some corner will lift and will lose it. it comes in pack of 6 so you can give some go but doesn't look a permanent protection. there aren't any thicker one? P. P.S. i have pulse mini not a pulse Edited July 5, 2010 by puzzlebs
Guest SonMauri Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 I use the a ZAGG screen protector. So far, so good. It's a little hard to put it if its your first time, but them they are very strong and durable.
Guest solongmarriane Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 If you get a screen protector go for the Vikuiti DQC-160 which I think was mentioned above. Easy to fit, very good fit around the edges and I found no difference in responsiveness after I fitted it. I made the mistake of buying one of the six packs for my wife's Genio and they are truly awful. Spend a bit more money and buy one good protector. Advice above about applying very slowly with a credit card is important. But, again, I have found that better quality protectors are much less prone to bubbles.
Guest sunnnny Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 I also got the Vikuiti screen protector, also on my former Touch Diamond. Yes it es expensive, but it really is worth it. The touchscreen really is as responsive as without, but evel "feels" better while sliding with the finger over it.
