Guest mobiholic Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 (edited) I love the Streak and I looove the form factor. Yes it's big but there's something about the size of it that just makes it an even more attractive product to me  add to that the matte black and the metal back and it just gets better! What I don't like is that the plastic edges on the front at either end of the screen seem cheap (imho) and could've been glass instead. While I was thinking about this i noticed that the end with the earphone was actually a little higher than the display on one corner and if i apply a little pressure it pops back down so that it is flush with the screen. I'm thinking of returning the unit for a replacement incase i was given a duff one. Has anyone else seen this with their device? EDIT - the plastic section that I push on will go down and stay flush but the next time i check it, it has risen again and is no longer in line with the screen. When i push it down it does kind of pop/click into place as if it is meant to be there but has come unstuck so i think i'll get it replaced. Edited July 3, 2010 by mobiholic
Guest HoTdiGiTi Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Yeah mine was flush till this morning, one of the plastic edges is lower and you can feel the edge of the screen glass. Also ive notice that sometimes when i lock the screen i can still see a faint watermark of the icons underneath. I have to press the lock button twice to remove it. Other than these two issues, im impressed with my Streak. This is my first Android device and im just learning the ins and outs and glad i got it instead of upgrading to an iPhone 4.0

So far so good! I'm still a little concerned that the top and bottom (when held vertically) plastic is only held by glue or double sided tape but it seems fine for most so i'll try to put it out of mind!
Guest nobnut Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Mine is wonky too. My friend's is flush but out of the blue the other day, the top side of the casing (right in between the camera and power buttons) popped out from being flush with the screen. It won't pop back in no matter how much force you put through it. I'm not worried about my screen edge not being flush. It's not worth taking it back for that. I did try the old Goorrila glass test the other day at a barbeque (I was drunk at the time). I gave the screen the good news with the business end of a bic lighter, then a metal dowell I found lying around and finally the corner of a wooden picnic bench. I wasn't going totally nuts with it but I didn't hold back either. How is my screen now you might ask? Hehehehe - Tip Top (not even a slight scuff). PS I won't be repeating the test though.

Guest HoTdiGiTi Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 The 'E' on the dell logo on the back plate of my streak has fell off, only had it 8 weeks. Do you think that's a good enough reason to ask for a replacement back plate?
