hello from ex iphone user, new dell streak user

Just thought id say hello to everyone, just got myself a streak instead of an iphone 4 and I'm blown away with the speed and ease of everything.

Is there anything I should start with? Ie rooting. What's the benefits etc

Basically, as I am a new at this too, giving root access to apps, gives them access to all resources from your phone, protected files and filesystems just as working as root on linux
