hi all first post so plz be careful with me,ive got a tmobile pulse with the vanilla 1.7rom on it and iwant to upgrade to android 2.1,have read alsorts and even more confused whats the basic way to do it please

thanks for that so i have to update to official 2.1 then a custom rom,so when i update to official 2.1 i lose vanilla 1.7,then whats the equivalent custom rom vanilla 1.7 plz

Yes, you have to install the official 2.1 first

Your best bet would be to use this custom 2.1 rom

There is an official 2.1 "vanilla-ish" rom available but I wouldn't recommended it to a newbie :lol:

I believe it is more stable and smaller with a lot of tweaks + fixes built into the rom.

Plus it gets updates :D

The most welcome fix that I really appreciated when switching from Oscillation is the launcher fix which stops the launcher being ended due to low memory and arriving at a black screen when you press the home button (Then have to wait for it to load up) :lol:

Edit: Signing into your google account should restore both your phonebook and give you access to your paid app

your apps and phonebook are synched to your account so as soon as you log into the new rom with the new account you get them back,

I fixed that myself the other day but I think I should probably wipe and put this rom on then... I will put it on my to do list.

If you set it up that way, yes. It does on all the roms.
