Guest tonemgub Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 Hi there, so I have a very simple question: Why are there so many different Custom-ROMs for the Liquid out there? I don't see the point. Let me clarify this. Obviously we all want our Liquid to be the fastest and best phone out there. But why can't the developers work together on ONE ROM? Sorry for my bad english :) Regards
Guest gengaro86 Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 Actually, LCR (Liquid Community Rom) is developed by more developers, and that's the ROM you've been looking for :) On the other hand, some developers (some of them are also in the LCR Team) wanted to try something on Froyo (phhusson, the best kernel hacker around; xian, a very good cooker) or on some leaks (Piter). All the other 1.100.05 ROMs aren't, IMHO, as good as the LCR.

Sorry for my bad english :) Regards Every developer has different aims when developing his ROM: - LCR target is to fit as many flavours as possible, bring powerful stuff, speed and comfort of usage to average user - my old Liberated ROM target was to make clean, fast and good looking ROM to fit multilanguage community Some devs wanna bring new features, new UI's, new Android builds, latest 3rd party stuff, coolest themes, and many, many others... I think that's good that we have many ROM's - everyone can choose something which fit's him best, that's the idea of democracy :D Edited July 5, 2010 by Piter1225

No really, people all have different preferences, I for example prefer a clean and light rom that I can modify to my own needs, others want something that just works straight out of the box. That is why there are a couple of different roms. Now that vache is also part of the community team I think the most popular ones now are: 2.1 Stock Xian's LiquidE LCR 2.2 Phhroyo Xian's LiquidF
Guest gengaro86 Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 You forgot one thing; those who steals others job and makes a new rom with new name :) I didn't want to start a new flame here, it's enough the other pathethic thread :D
Guest Splux Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 I didn't want to start a new flame here, it's enough the other pathethic thread :) It doesn't matter where you go, you always find them.. And the final group of developers; those who just want to try new things, but I haven't seen that many releases from someone who just wanna try something new.. :D

By the way (and offtopic), anyone else agrees that a theme should be an addon that's seperate from the rom itself? I would love a non-themed LCR :D EDIT: Great title by the way, I think this must be the most active thread we've seen in a while :P Edited July 5, 2010 by Quipeace
