When I go into the texting application (sms), I cant send messages with swype; I hit send, it clears the text and does not send anything. If I switch to the Samsung keyboard, it sends the texts no problem. Anyone else having this issue? I've already re-flashed the firmware and the problem persists...

No idea... sorry... can't try it atm! Why don't you use something like Titanium Backup to save you some effort? P

P ya last time i restored with titanium backup it screwed ujp something in the market place so it would crash immediately had to do a reset and install apps using mybackup pro. but neither app restores the settings such as my 7 screen layout and other stuff. so it still takes hours to get everything just so. so do you recommend wipe, then install, then restore.. or just install? thanks.. i have already downloaded it just need to decide when i am going to tackle another re-install.. vs. how much this bug irks me. if you are not sure it will fix it.. i may just wait for next version of f/w as it did work in jf7
Guest lgkahn Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 I was playing with this for awhile and when you go in options and select add subject before sending the text message, the sending works with alternate keyboards... hope this helps.

P It looks like this Swype problem does not happen with the CSC file from the 'European' version, I9000XWJFF. Since you fixed it, Paul, can you confirm that the problem was in the CSC? Guest lgkahn Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 i believed the problem is with the apk/odex itself and not csc.. i've a deoxded version from previous version that works.. if u interested, i can post an update.zip to fix that problem later ya that is what i summized also but tried to put the mms.apk and mms.odex from jf3 version on phone and it went in reboot loop. i was finally able to reflash ad this time used csc from jff and now everyting works.. guess you cannot put app with odex from different version on the phone..without de-odexing.. not sure why?
