Pinch to Zoom not working?

Hi guys, this might be a dumb thing but for some reason I cannot pinch to zoom in webpages or photographs anymore, I got to double tap, any ideas why this is, only had the phone for a week? Thanks.

The first O2 Desire ROM had this issue. An update made pinch2zoom functional again.

Was that out of the box? My Desire from Vodafone worked for a few days on pinch to zoom but just stopped for no apparent reason? I tried the OTA update option and it said no new updates available.

I might be sending it back though if I can get a better deal via T-Mobile, will call them tonight.

Have you installed Swype? Usually you can just turn off and turn on your phone and it will be fixed, but that's only the solution if the problem is from Swype.

Probably it's not working because pinching doesn't zoom in. It zooms out! :)

But seriously, I've had the same happening, it didn't work anywhere anymore. Turned out, turning off and on again solved it. Seems like the multitouch driver or whatever part that is responsible for it, crashed or locked or something.

But pinch to zoom works both zooming in and out....

Yeh am glad I posted the problem cos I tried to show it to a few friends after installing swype and I was like NOOOOOOO!!!!!! whats wrong when I am trying to make the phone look better than the IPhone that he had! Anyway its sorted now so thats good :)

It was a joke :-) I associate "zoom" without "in" or "out" mentioned, with zooming in, but maybe that's just me.

But yeah, I had it too, just as I wanted to demo something to a friend, pinch zoom stopped working. Oh oh oh, the famous demo-effect.
