How to install?

Installation of the PingChat! Android beta is easy.

1. Go to Settings -> Applications. Make sure Unknown Sources has a check mark.

2. Navigate to this link directly from your phone.(which is above)

3. When downloaded, tap on the downloaded file from the Notification bar.

4. Push Install.

Ready to Ping!

What's in this version

In PingChat! Android beta 1 the following functionality is ready for testing:

- Compose text, photo, movie, voice notes messages

- Group chat conversation

- Message receipts.

Notable missing functionality/issues (available in a later beta)

- Photo viewing can take a long time to load on Nexus One devices.

- Maps and Contacts messages

- Voice note playback sent from an iPhone device

- Friends invitation through Facebook, Twitter or Email

can anyone tell me the benefits of pingchat over other messengers like msn? Since msn is widely spread, I don't see why we should get another account for another messenger...?
