Guest miniPax Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 (edited) First of all, I love the option to bake WaveSecure into the ROM, no need to install some extra uninstall protection. But how, if possible, do I update it? I remember some guide for MCR 3.2 on how to install it to ROM (some command-line thing), can I use the same method for updating? It's no biggie as the difference is only 3.1.0.4 vs 3.1.0.8, but I like to keep my apps up-to-date. Cheers :D edit: Doh..I was able to update it via market. Stupid me :) Edited July 6, 2010 by miniPax

Stupid me :) Keep in mind that if you wipe the phone (or if a thief does) the application will revert to the version which was baked in the ROM. If this link is still valid ( http://www.wavesecure.com/installations/update.zip ) you can try to flash the update.zip to the phone as if it was a ROM file. The link should contain the latest version.

Stupid me :) you mean 3.1.0.9 :P btw updating it via market means it can now be wiped by a rom flash [i think] it's got be either baked in or update.zip'd with no market update else it becomes an app not part of the rom ...you probably new that already :P
Guest miniPax Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 3.1.0.8 when I wrote the post :) Hmm, so by updating it via Market it won't revert to original version on a wipe, but it'll be removed completely? Maybe I can just uncheck the box when I bake the ROM, and rather upload the newest version as an ZIP-file to the Kitchen. Gotta test around a bit.
Guest bbawden Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 No - if it's wiped (or even uninstall from app manager) it will revert to the baked in version. If you update from the market, it's only the update that can be manually uninstalled, not the whole app.
