Guest hyakamaru Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) I bricked my Taiwan CHT8000 (aka. Huawei U8220) while rooting, and I really need a nandroid backup for this phone. I wasn't aware that a backup was necessary (took a risk), and well, ended up with a bricked phone without a backup. :D Right now its stuck at the "Android" screen, never to see the light of the OS. I can really really use a NAND backup of CHT8000, or at least some help on how to fix this. Thank you! :) Edited July 8, 2010 by hyakamaru

Or you could try wiping and installing a custom rom http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...e-owners-guide/ Edited July 8, 2010 by Azurren

I am now using the B279SP01 version. http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/down...iwan%20CHT).zip If for some reason you can't get an update to work, try using the "time machine". I had to use that before I could do my first update. http://www.huaweidevice.com/community/thre...&orderStr=9 Edit: The CHT8000 was not compatible with the other rooted ROMs on this site. However, there was a thread about the CHT8000 in which "kenoboe" linked to a rooted ROM for the CHT8000 he created (a "superboot" option). It worked great. However, I did not bother to try to root my device since upgrading to the latest official ROM, so I don't know if it still would work for me. I am waiting (hoping) for the official 2.1 update for this phone before I make any more changes. Edited July 8, 2010 by twrock

(ie. it wont start past the Android logo) Edited July 9, 2010 by hyakamaru
Guest R_A_V Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 How do I do the update when I've already bricked my phone? (ie. it wont start past the Android logo) Switch off phone and extract sdcard, create folder 'dload' on sdcard, put a UPDATA.APK in it, insert sdcard into phone, press 'Volume Up' + 'End' (red) + 'Power' and hold a bit, update will start. After update completes pull off a battery and put it back after a second. Switch on a phone.
Guest twrock Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 How do I do the update when I've already bricked my phone? (ie. it wont start past the Android logo) R_A_V is correct. Also, there are directions for how to perform the updates included in most of the downloads. Just look for the PDF files or TXT files for directions.

That is very informative (for me at least). I have been unable to get any FLB rom to work with my wifi. But I have been using the Hungarian ROM as the base. I'll download Tre 2.1 and try again.

It works for me, using the Clockwork Recovery. Don't mind the PC Suite part. You have to wipe everything before you do any upgrades though. .. Edited August 5, 2010 by hyakamaru
